Liverpool’s title challenge is looking strong this season, particularly if the nucleus of the squad remains fit, but one area remains an issue – left back.
Whilst James Milner has done a stellar job for the Reds so far in another of his makeshift positions past him there is very little in the way of squad depth for that area.
Indeed, the whole reason that the former Aston Villa man has had to fill in down that side this season is because of Alberto Moreno’s continually wayward performances and despite Jurgen Klopp’s insistence the Reds are fine in this area, a new signing wouldn’t do any harm.
Winning the league, as the Reds plan to do this season, largely comes down to who has the best squad to deal with all the rigours of a campaign in this country and we think the German needs to have a real look at some further options for the left side of the defence.
With that in mind, then, here are three left backs that Klopp should be considering in January…
