As quoted by The Metro, Jack Wilshere has surprisingly lavished praise on Liverpool despite the Reds being in direct competition with his parent club Arsenal for the Premier League title.
The England international has been on loan at Bournemouth this season and has done well to rediscover some form whilst he’s also been getting some good levels of fitness back during his time on the south coast.
Ultimately, though, he is Arsenal’s player and so it could come as a bit of a shock that he’s been so effusive over the way the Reds have played this season with him particularly citing the performance against his parent side earlier this year.
The Reds beat the Gunners 4-3 on the opening day and Wilshere said:
“They’re a good team.
“When I was at Arsenal for the first game of the season when we played them I was on the bench and they were unbelievable.
“They press from the front, when we lost the ball they pressed straight away and won it in dangerous positions so we know what we’re [Bournemouth] going to get from them.”
The midfielder will be lining up for the Cherries this weekend as we head to face them at the Vitality Stadium knowing that a win combined with a draw between Manchester City and Chelsea at the weekend would see us go to the top of the table.
Will we go top this weekend, Reds? Let us know below!
