As quoted by Russian outlet Sport Express, Spartak Moscow’s general director Sergey Rodionov has revealed that Reds target (as reported by The Liverpool Echo) Quincy Promes does have a release clause.

The powerful winger is a reported target of the Reds in January as he is of similar ilk to the Africa Cup of Nations bound Sadio Mane and would be a like for like swap in our attack.

And this news will be more than welcome by the club with a set fee evidently available to secure his services.

Rodionov would not reveal what that figure was, however, but did go as far to say that such a clause is currently in place in the Dutchman’s contract.

The Spartak Moscow man said:

“Rumours, but no offers. Spartak have not received anything, and have no plans to let Promes leave.

“Yes [he has a release clause]. But how much – I do not tell. We will try [to keep him].”

It appears, then, that we’ll have to pay the release figure if we want the winger as Rodionov seems pretty adamant the side from the Russian capital want to keep hold of him.

How much would you pay for Quincy, Reds? Let us know below!
