According to the print version of Corriere dello Sport Liverpool are going to make a bid of £22.5 million for Atalanta midfielder Franck Kessie, (via The Liverpool Echo.)
The young player has seen his stock rise considerably this season for the Italian club with them surprising everyone with their exploits so far.
At the start of the year the team were expected to be one of those battling relegation but so far they have competed with the likes of Napoli and Roma in and around the European spots of the table.
Naturally, though, when smaller clubs like that start performing well the bigger ones are keen to swoop on their best players and that seems the case here with Kessie.
He has scored five goals from midfield as well as providing an assist this season and that kind of return would surely only increase if he was to join our club.
Goal-scoring midfielders are worth their weight in gold, too, and so we’re hoping the Reds can get a deal over the line.
