As quoted by The Metro, our former striker Neil Mellor has said that having Jurgen Klopp will give us a key advantage in the January transfer window as we compete for new players.
Our German manager has certainly endeared himself to the fans since he came in to the club in October of last year with many of our players seemingly improving dramatically under his stewardship.
Indeed, their performances have indicated that they are very happy to be playing under the former Dortmund boss and that is something that Mellor feels will come into play once the window opens next month.
The former striker said:
“As a player, if you’re playing Europe or the Premier League and you hear of Jurgen Klopp’s interest I think that would appeal to a lot of players and that could be a big factor in appealing to potential players who may not have come to Liverpool because they’re not in Europe.
“Because of the Jurgen factor and the likability factor he has and the style of play he has he may swing one or two deals in Liverpool’s favour.”
The Reds have already signed the likes of Sadio Mane, Georginio Wijnaldum and Joel Matip under the German during his time and many will be hoping for plenty more as we look to challenge for the title this season.
