Without Joel Matip we all wanted to see Dejan Lovren take charge last weekend but he just didn’t.
The Reds needed him to take control of the situation and demonstrate the improvement in confidence we’ve seen in him of late but he went back to his old ways and left Lucas Leiva in the lurch with little instruction. It wasn’t just him at fault, of course, but he’ll need to step up here and help keep a clean sheet against the Hammers.
