The Reds have had a quiet transfer window this month – much has been made of that – but many are tipping a busier summer window when it comes around.
We’ve not signed anyone this winter when really we perhaps should have.
Our thin squad has suffered at the hands of a very busy campaign and as we gear up for an EFL Cup semi-final tonight, it marks another big game in a small matter of weeks.
Even so, we can’t make anymore excuses over why our form has dipped recently and as long as we’re in the top four by the end of the year we’ll probably take it.
Indeed, that could lead us into an even stronger season next time around and Shaka Hislop believes the Reds are favourites to sign Joe Hart ahead of that in the summer.
He told ESPN (via The Metro🙂
“[Hart has] been heavily linked with a move to Liverpool.
“The Chelsea link comes because there’s still some uncertainty about [Thibaut] Courtois, his long-term future at Stamford Bridge and supposed Real Madrid interest.
“I think Real Madrid will continue to put all their eggs in the [David] De Gea basket and I think Courtois might be a bit of a distraction than a Plan B.
“So I think Hart will find himself going to Anfield rather than Stamford Bridge.”
