As quoted by Fanta Gazzetta, Schalke director of football Christian Heidl has revealed that their left back Sead Kolasinac will not be leaving the club until at least June – potentially coming as a blow for the Reds.
We’ve been linked by the likes of Bild (via The Express) for the left back in recent times but it now appears the player will not be moving until at least the summer and that may be that in terms of our interest.
James Milner has of course been our left back so far this season and has done an admirably good job but past that we have very little in the way of options thanks to the likes of Alberto Moreno struggling.
If we want a new left back this season we’re going to have to look elsewhere now, then, with Heidl saying:
“We want to keep him with us, he’s not going anywhere else before June.”
Whether or not something happens in June regarding the Reds remains to be seen though it could be that we’re set to give up on this one completely now.
