As reported by James Pearce of The Liverpool Echo on Twitter, Joel Matip has not traveled with the Reds for our game against Plymouth tonight.

The Reds are down in Devon for a 3rd round replay after we drew 0-0 with Argyle at Anfield the weekend before last.

Jurgen Klopp played the kids in that one and is expected to here, as well, but Matip could have also played having well recovered from his injury difficulties.

However, the ongoing scenario with the defender and his international clearance has left the Reds in the dark over whether they can play him or not tonight and having not heard anything, they’ve decided to leave him out.

It’s probably for the best that we leave the ex-Schalke man at home for this one with the Reds reportedly waiting until Friday for a ruling from FIFA.

What would you do in this situation, Reds? Let us know below!
