Jurgen Klopp has offered an update on the fitness of Marko Grujic and Dejan Lovren today as the Reds continue their training in La Manga at the moment.

With no game this weekend thanks to the Reds’ elimination from the FA Cup in the last round by Wolves, the club have decided to do what seems quite popular at this point in the year and jet off somewhere warmer.

It remains to be seen how that works out in terms of the race for the top four in the coming months but in the meantime the manager has been speaking about two players left at Melwood – Lovren and Grujic.

The boss said on their injuries (as quoted by the club’s official website🙂

“Hopefully, especially Dejan, [they] can come back to training after when we come back on Sunday, that would be great.

“Same for Marko Grujic, who is close but not close enough to make the sessions with us, and it’s not nice for a player when you’re close but you see this, so do your stuff and train [with the group] in the moment you can do it again. So that’s all, there are no other reasons.”

Lovren has been out for two games after missing the win against Spurs and the loss at Hull whilst Grujic has missed a fair chunk of this season and he looks to earn a place in Klopp’s reckoning more regularly.
