The lure of Chinese football has become all the rage these days in the modern game and it certainly seems here to stay.
The likes of Oscar, Carlos Tevez and Ramires have all been big name players to go over there and make themselves a fortune and – as quoted by The Mirror – it’s certainly something that is on the minds of many according to Simon Mignolet.
The Belgian stopper has managed to keep hold of his number 1 spot until now after a brief interlude from Loris Karius earlier in the season but it remains to be seen if he stays past this summer.
And, whilst he’s not said he or one of his team-mates will be off to the Chinese league, he hasn’t exactly said that the players haven’t thought about it:
“You see the money and of course you talk about it.
“I’m a keeper and I don’t think they want any keepers.
“I know the next question is would you go to China – and the only answer you can give is that you don’t know unless you get an actual proposal.
“You can’t weigh up the pros and cons until you actually receive an offer.”
Not massively concerning, then, but certainly something that could be worrying should one of the Chinese sides launch a bid for one of our stars.
