Cast your mind back to January and you may remember, amongst the many other links, that Gabriel Barbosa was one of the names that could join the club.
The likes of The Mirror had us as potential new employers for the Brazilian once dubbed ‘The New Neymar’ and so it was an exciting time (sort of) with us ultimately not bringing him in.
And now it appears that any such deal in the future could be some way off with the attacker moving to clarify his position at current club Inter Milan.
He moved from Santos last summer but hasn’t quite cut it in Serie A at the moment with Inter finally managing to get over their woeful start to the year.
Barbosa remains upbeat, though, and had this to say about his stay in Italy (quotes via FourFourTwo🙂
“It’s a bit too cold, but I’m very happy here.
“Everyone is helping me, giving me advice and the fact I’m playing with superstars who previously I’d only see in video games is amazing.”
He seems pretty settled, then, and so this one could be over for some time at least.
