As quoted by ZDF (via The Mirror,) Reds target Max Meyer has said it is “50-50” as to whether he stays at current club Schalke or makes a move in the summer.

The Reds have been linked with a whole host of players this season but Meyer was one to come up as long ago as last summer thanks to Jurgen Klopp knowing of him from his time in Germany.

Certainly, he’s a very talented young player with the ability to really ghost past opposition players and so he’d surely be a good player to have in our ranks.

Spurs are also thought to be keen, though, and his recent comments suggest that a transfer battle could see him move on from the Bundesliga side.

When asked if he would sign a new deal with the club, he said:

“Why not? I can imagine both. The odds are 50-50.”

It seems, then, he is certainly open for a move if it is right and we reckon he’d be a young player definitely worth pursuing.
