According to The Mirror, the Reds are weighing up a move for Roma defender Kostas Manolas in what would surely be an exciting deal.

Defence has been an issue for some time for the club, far past this season for sure.

It has, however, not been fully fixed even now and despite Joel Matip looking like a decent enough signing, he too has dropped a couple of mistakes in so far.

You can see, though, that if we paired him with another class centre-half that we’d have the makings of a strong defence and so that’s why we’re excited about Manolas.

The Greek international is a very classy player and was apparently scouted by the club in Roma’s Europa League tie with Lyon last week.

His talent, though, means he’d cost a fair bit and according to the report he is valued at a significant price of £35 million.
