According to goal.com, Liverpool are not in the hunt for Greek international and Roma defender Kostas Manolas.
Not too long ago we had seen plenty of stories suggesting that we were in for the classy centre-back but now it appears those stories were wide of the mark.
Indeed, it should hardly come as a surprise given most transfer stories end up this way even though we were admittedly excited about the possibility of having him in our side.
At 25-years-old he is entering his prime and we think alongside Joel Matip we’d have had a very strong looking central pairing.
Now, though, that looks to be over and it remains to be seen what other defenders Jurgen Klopp goes for in the summer.
We certainly need some, though, and so we hope this change in story doesn’t become a familiar experience over the coming months.
