As quoted by The Liverpool Echo, long-term Liverpool target Mikkel Duelund has suggested that he would like a move to the Premier League before too long.

Duelund is currently in the Danish U21 side – despite being only 19 – and featured in their game with the England U21’s last night.

He’s drawn comparisons with former great Michael Laudrup, too, and so there is clearly quality there just waiting to be shown on the highest level.

Currently, though, he plays with FC Midtjylland but has been monitored by the Reds for some time and the youngster has admitted a move to this country would appeal to him in the long term.

Indeed, he feels that first he needs another stepping stone before having a crack at one of the biggest leagues in the world, saying:

“Maybe I also need another stepping stone before being ready for the absolute top level. I have great ambitions, and I dream of the big leagues like the Premier League. But I know that I need to be patient.”

Time, then, will tell if we go for this latest young talent.
