As quoted by The Telegraph, Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva has hinted that his future may lay away from the Reds past this campaign.
It’s been an interesting career for the Brazilian at Anfield.
Much maligned in his early days at the club, the midfielder eventually found himself and integral part of the side in that holding role.
In more recent years, though, under Jurgen Klopp he has found himself playing less and less – and out of position.
Indeed, he’s been asked to fill in at centre-half more often than not and whilst he’s been okay there, there can be no doubt we need a more orthodox option to come in during the summer.
Lucas, then, has his future on his mind and after trying to help the Reds secure a top four finish, he’ll discuss things.
He said: “I have been here long enough and if the time comes for me to go somewhere else I think I will leave with the feeling that I did everything I could.”
