Former Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers still believes the Reds are in pole position to finish in the top four this season – as quoted by Talksport.

The Northern Irish boss famously took the Reds to within a few points of the title back in 2013/14 and now finds himself on the brink of a treble in Scotland with current club Celtic.

Indeed, his team reached the Scottish Cup final against Aberdeen after beating Rangers on Sunday – the same day that saw the Reds give up points in the top four race against Crystal Palace.

Rodgers, though, in speaking to the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast, still believes that things are going to go our way come the end of the season.

He said:

“With the games Liverpool have left they would expect themselves to qualify.

“They haven’t got European football, so they’re just preparing for that one game a week.”

Of course, that is easier said than done where the Reds are concerned but we’re certainly trying to remain hopeful over this situation.
