If there’s one good thing to have come out of the Reds having a ridiculously thin squad, it has to be the fact that we’ve been able to play so many young players.

Of course, there’s some negatives to playing young players with the obvious one being their lack of experience but at least we have been able to see the best of the crop coming through being able to handle the expectation.

Indeed, the two most impressive players this season surely have to be Ben Woodburn and Trent Alexander-Arnold and the former has been recognised for his displays with a nomination for the Golden Boy award – as reported by Squawka.

It’s the latest accolade for the young attacker, then, even though he may not actually win it and so we’re hoping that this spurs him on to try and make a real career for himself.
