There’s been one main Achilles heel to the Reds this season and that, simply, has to be our defence.
There’s more than one weakness to our team, of course, but most of it all stems from the fact that when the pressure is on, the club’s defenders simply lose control of the game and often concede.
Indeed, we thought that Joel Matip would eventually help some extra calmness come into the back-line but it is apparent that he needs serious help in the centre of defence and to build a strong relationship with another player.
For sure, our other centre-halves don’t appear capable of forging such a union and so, in our eyes, another defender surely has to come in during the summer.
