According to The Daily Mail, Liverpool have put a hefty £40m price tag on striker Daniel Sturridge ahead of a potential summer move for the player.

The Reds chalked up a vital win last night against Watford thanks to a great goal from Emre Can but it was also another match in which the England international failed to start.

Indeed, Divock Origi once again got the nod and whilst Sturridge came on towards the end of the game and looked bright, the murmurings over his future will surely persist.

It appears, though, should anyone want to sign him they will have to fork out quite the lump sum before any move can go ahead.

Indeed, for that price he may stay at the club and we can only hope that if he does he remains fit for 2017/18.
