As quoted by Sky Sports – via goal.com – Ben Gibson has hinted that he would like a transfer move in the summer to stay in the Premier League.
Goal.com has referred to the fact that Gibson is linked with the Reds in their report, too, and so his words could be of real interest to Jurgen Klopp and FSG.
The Middlesbrough defender has certainly impressed on an individual basis but his team have ended up getting relegated regardless, potentially leaving him to want a move away.
Indeed, he certainly suggested he wants to remain in the top-flight in saying:
“I think every player in the world wants to play in the Premier League, everyone wants to play at the top level. I’m no different to that. What I would say is that no decision has been made regarding my future as of yet.”
Gibson, then, could be a player we could be able to sign if we make a good enough bid with it certainly apparent that we need extra options at centre-half in the squad at the moment.
