As quoted by The Times, Liverpool favourite Xabi Alonso has revealed his one big regret from his time on Merseyside.
The Spanish midfielder really did capture the minds of fans and players alike during his time at Anfield and was a real hit with the way he controlled the games he played in.
He was part of the 2005 Champions League winning side, too, and part of one of the best recent Reds teams that involved the likes of Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres.
Indeed, that team came very close to winning the league in 2008/09 and it is the fact that we narrowly missed out on the title that poses as Alonso’s biggest regret from his time here.
After that season, we let Alonso go to Real Madrid where he excelled and now he is approaching his final game with current club Bayern Munich before retiring.
