According to Spanish outlet Don Balon, Liverpool will look to replace Philippe Coutinho with Isco if the Brazilian moves on from the club in the summer.
Rumours over our No.10’s future have been rife for some time, of course, and so we shouldn’t give this report any more real significance than any of the others that have come our way of late.
The fact that Isco is involved potentially, though, does add a slightly different aspect to any deal and it would certainly represent a big change in personnel and, perhaps, playing style.
Indeed, whilst Coutinho looks to take players on and get shots off as much as possible, someone like Isco prefers to pull the strings from a deeper lying role and that would surely mean we’d still have to sign another forward player.
Of course, it’s still speculation, for now, and so what happens remains to be seen.
