The Daily Star is reporting today that Liverpool remain confident of signing Virgil Van Dijk despite Southampton boss Claude Puel coming out and saying the defender would not be on the move.
This has been one of the most talked about stories of the season with the Reds not the only side to have been linked with an interest in the centre-half.
Indeed, the Dutch international has had such a good campaign that many of the biggest clubs in the league could be a potential destination for him come the summer window.
And, despite Puel’s best efforts to play things down in terms of Van Dijk leaving the south coast club, this report is suggesting that those words are actually going to count for very little if a good enough offer comes in.
For sure, Van Dijk would be a good signing and we’d certainly take him alongside Joel Matip.
