Make no mistake, the Reds really do need to sign some top level players in the summer if we are to build on 2016/17.
For sure, we need to get through the play-offs of the Champions League but then we are at last back in the big time and we need to tailor the squad to make sure we’re ready.
New, top bracket players, then, are needed and so the big names are going to start getting linked with the Reds over the summer.
Indeed, according to Don Balon – via The Express – James Rodriguez is a Reds target – something we have heard before in recent months.
Certainly, the Colombian is of the calibre to make a difference to the Reds in the Champions League but we do have our doubts about this one given we’re not sure he is a Jurgen Klopp player.
Even so, it’ll be interesting to see exactly what happens.
