As quoted by the club’s official site, Liverpool man James Milner has urged the squad to finish the job in terms of Champions League qualification.
Indeed, the Reds finished fourth last season which we were all pleased about as it allowed us passage to the play-offs for the competition.
We do, however, need to see things through in that two legged tie before we can start seriously thinking about who we’re going to play.
Milner, then, has urged the rest of his team-mates to make sure they’re ready straight away.
He said:
“Obviously it’s a big start to the season for us.
“Pre-season is always tough, nobody particularly enjoys it. But with the tours and the [Champions League] qualifier we want to hit the ground running and start the season well. So it’s important you’re ready to go.”
Ever the professional, we’ll be looking at Milner to lead by example in these games as the Reds look to go about getting back into the competition at last.
