We’re only just getting over the fact that the Reds have signed Mo Salah for a club record fee when it already looks as though the chequebook is primed for an even bigger deal this summer.

The Reds, of course, have got a seemingly new found sense of free-spending this summer as we look to get back on top of the pile and do well in the Champions League and that has been reflected by Marca’s latest report.

Indeed, they are claiming that we have offered 100m Euros for Monaco man Kylian Mbappe though the club have rejected that particular advance.

In English money, then, that’s a cool £87.8m and that figure far dwarfs any other bid we’ve made for a player in the history of the club.

It’s not enough, though, and so we’ll have to see what happens next.
