According to The Liverpool Echo, the Reds may have been dealt a blow in the 50m euros chase for midfielder Naby Keita.

The Reds, of course, have been touted as needing a new central midfielder for some time – particularly one that can get up and down the pitch with ease.

Keita, then, has been the one linked with him certainly fulfilling that box-to-box role in superb fashion for Red Bull Leipzig.

However, we may have been given a further obstacle in the chase for him to overcome with his side being allowed to play in the Champions League next season despite owners Red Bull having another side – Salzburg also in the competition.

It had been thought that Keita would be more likely to leave if Leipzig ended up outside the tournament but now this ruling has come to pass the Reds may have to turn up the wick.
