According to The Liverpool Echo, the Reds do not feel as though they will have to pay over the anticipated £3 million for Dominic Solanke despite his brilliant U20 World Cup exploits.

This, then, has to be seen as the Reds avoiding a setback as the young striker was simply brilliant for England as they became world champions of that age group.

Indeed, Solanke helped fire them to glory with his goals throughout the tournament and so it might have been a worry that the price had gone up.

It seems, though, that it won’t and now the Reds just need to wait and see what the tribunal decides in terms of a fee for the striker from Chelsea.
