Speaking to talkSPORT and as quoted by The Express, Micky Quinn has suggested that the Reds are very close to signing Virgil Van Dijk from Southampton now.
This is a transfer rumour we have seen rumbling on for the whole season and it does now seem as though something is going to give before too long.
And, according to the famous Liverpool fan and former footballer, the Dutchman could just be on his way to Merseyside.
He said:
“I said to Danny (Kelly, talkSPORT presenter) yesterday Liverpool are very close to signing him.”
Promising stuff from Quinn here, then, but we won’t get too excited until the deal has completely gone through.
If it does, though, we’re certainly going to be of the opinion that he is going to make our defence a lot better – even if it does cost a massive £50 million.
