As quoted by The Express, Luis Suarez has said that Liverpool could still have Steven Gerrard playing for them as he still has the ability to make a difference.

The legendary Reds skipper hung up his boots to become our under 18 manager but his former team-mate Suarez thinks he is still good enough to be preparing for a new campaign with the senior side.

He said after reflecting on Gerrard’s performance in the Liverpool legends game against Real Madrid earlier this year:

“I reckon that in that game when he just came back.

“He showed that he still had the quality to keep playing, even at Liverpool. That’s because he’s a player who still can make the difference.”

For sure, Gerrard did show great quality in that game but it is certainly unlikely that he is going to be playing any more for us or any other club in a professional capacity.
