As quoted by The Liverpool Echo, former Reds midfielder Luis Garcia has said that this season is now the time that the Reds win a trophy under Jurgen Klopp.

A man who knows all too well what it takes to win silverware with the club – thanks to his Champions League and FA Cup successes – he feels now the Reds of this year must make the leap.

Indeed, with the club making two finals under Klopp but not winning either, there is still that monkey to get off of the team’s back, and Garcia thinks it must happen this season.

He said:

“He has been at the club nearly two years and has been trying to build a team similar to the one he had back in Germany.

“This has to be the season where the trophies are coming back to the club. I think he is doing a good job and has brought in some of the players he wanted.”

Certainly, we’d agree with these sentiments from our former midfielder with now the time for the squad to really start coming of age and getting in some silverware.

Indeed, it’s been five years since our League Cup win and that, for our club, is five years too long.
