As quoted by the club’s official website, Jordan Henderson has talked up Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s ability and has tipped him to be able to play either on the wing or in the middle of the park.
The England international was signed right at the end of the transfer window from Arsenal and should be in contention to feature against Manchester City as the Premier League returns this weekend.
However, he will surely find it hard to fit in either down the middle or down the wing right now with our players in those positions in fine form right now.
The skipper Henderson, though, thinks he is going to be a top player for us and thinks that, wherever he plays, he’ll play well.
He said:
“He’s a fantastic player; he can adapt to each position [and] gives you something different on the wing. He’s very direct and powerful and in the midfield he’s clever enough to get on the ball and get on the half-turn so, for me, he can play in either position.”
