According to the BBC, Liverpool will appeal against the length of ban Sadio Mane is set to receive for his red card on Saturday afternoon against Manchester City.

The winger was sent off in contentious circumstances this weekend just gone against Manchester City after his high foot clashed with Ederson in a challenge for the ball.

Indeed, many have argued since then over whether it was a red or not and it seems as though the club is going to try and make the case that it was not as bad a red as some others that have gone.

Indeed, if they can get the ban down to two or even one game(s) then that will be a bonus because at the moment the winger stands to face three games out of action at a very busy time of the season.

If the appeal is rejected, he will miss games against Burnley and Leicester in the league, as well as the Foxes in the EFL Cup.
