According to Melissa Reddy for goal.com, the sticking point in Emre Can’s contract is that he is still looking for a release clause and wants to be one of the top earners at the club.
The German midfielder has started in good form this season and the worry is, as it has been for some time, that he is going to leave on a free at the end of the campaign with his contract up at that point.
For sure, then, work has been going on for some time to try and avoid that but the German wants a release clause and our club simply does not.
