According to Mundo Deportivo – via Sport Witness – Liverpool and Barcelona are to open talks over the transfer of Philippe Coutinho in the coming days.
The summer is a fair time ago now but this story has overhung from it and now it seems as though we’re going to have to deal with it until January at the very least.
It was apparent, too, that the Brazilian wanted to leave but the Reds did well to keep him and so we should be applauded for that.
He seems to have settled straight back in as well and, in all honesty, we’re taking this story with a pinch of sort as we highly doubt that we’ll be letting him go in the next window.
These talks, then, may prove to be futile – if they even happen at all that is.
