When the news broke yesterday that Sadio Mane would be injured for six weeks, there was an obvious outcry of disappointment.

Understandably, too, with the winger only just returning from suspension, we were looking forward to seeing how the ‘fab four’ attacking players we have were going to start gelling.

Instead, though, we’ve got more time to wait to see that really flourish and attention is now firmly on how we get by without him.

Indeed, we’ve got the small matter of a game with Manchester United to deal with this weekend but, in trying to keep upbeat, we’ve been thinking about why it could work in our favour that he’ll be missing this game.
