Image for Klopp reveals important injury update ahead of West Ham game

Speaking to the press today, and as quoted by the club’s official website, Jurgen Klopp has revealed that the Reds will have a few players missing for the weekend trip to West Ham.

Whilst Sadio Mane has been confirmed as back in training for the Reds and possibly set to feature at some point, we will be without the likes of Adam Lallana, Nathaniel Clyne and Philippe Coutinho.

The first two, of course, were not expected to be fit anyway and Coutinho’s injury clearly hasn’t completely fixed so it remains to be seen how long that takes.

Klopp did say, however, that Dejan Lovren and Gini Wijnaldum could be back in the side in some capacity. He said:

“Phil is not available. With the rest, it will be close. Gini I’m not sure, we have to see. It’s painful what he has but maybe he can cope with it. We will have to see.

“Dejan, yes, maybe today is the clearing session and we know that in weeks like this you have to wait until the last second to make the squad or the line-up.”
