According to the Daily Mail, Liverpool are rivalling Tottenham in taking a closer look at Stevenage defender Ben Wilmot.
The 18-year-old has played well this season for the League Two side and around 30 scouts were at their recent game with Brighton in the Checkatrade Trophy to see how he performed.
He is clearly a man in demand, then, but it is thought that the Reds and Spurs are leading the charge at the moment.
Indeed, with both Jurgen Klopp and Mauricio Pochettino both renowned for working with young players and developing them into top stars, it makes sense to see that Wilmot is being linked with both.
At the age of 18, he still has a lot to learn at centre-half but we’re all for chasing him if Klopp feels he can turn him into a top drawer defender – something we’re still lacking at the moment.
