The Reds got the second half of our Champions League campaign underway last night as we faced off against Maribor under the floodlights at Anfield.

Going into this one, many thoughts were on our 7-0 win in Slovenia and it was pretty clear from the get-go that many were expecting a similar result with much of the pre-match chat about how many the Reds would get.

Maribor, though, provided a stern test to start with with them far more solid than the game a few weeks ago, as the Reds were pretty pedestrian in terms of trying to break them down, meaning it was 0-0 at half-time.

The second half started brighter, though, and we were soon ahead as Mo Salah turned home Trent Alexander-Arnold’s fine cross.

That sparked some better football, too, and it was 2-0 thanks to Emre Can after James Milner had missed a penalty minutes before.

The Reds would cruise from there, too, adding a third in the final minutes through Daniel Sturridge, and so let’s take a look at our player ratings from the match…
