According to the Daily Star, Liverpool are looking at PSV winger Hirving Lozano in what could cause a bidding war with rivals Arsenal.

The two sides met earlier this month as we drew 3-3 and many felt that our defence once again needed strengthening.

Since then, of course, we’ve signed Virgil van Dijk for £70m and a potential £5m worth of add-ons so that should help us boost things at the back.

It appears that the January spending could surpass £100m, though, with the report suggesting we’re looking at Lozano with a £42m fee being mentioned as above his head.

The Gunners, meanwhile, are apparently also interested in the talented Mexican winger and so another battle with our top four rivals could be on.

Whether or not we need the winger remains to be seen, though, with us possessing plenty of attacking talent at the moment.
