The latest Merseyside Derby took place yesterday afternoon as the Reds hosted Everton at Anfield on a busy day of Premier League football.

Much of the talk before the game centred on team selection. Jurgen Klopp decided to rest Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino – amongst others – as the likes of Dom Solanke and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain came into the side.

Things started brightly for the Reds, but as Everton got deeper and deeper it looked as though it would take some magic to get the first goal. Mo Salah, then, provided it as he whipped home a cracking strike a few minutes from the break.

We needed to kill the game after the break, though, and despite more possession another goal didn’t come for us. The Blues, however, managed to draw level after winning a penalty, much to the sheer frustration of all at Anfield.

1-1 it finished, then, when it should have been a comfortable win and so here’s our player ratings from the game…
