As quoted by Football 365, Juventus Chief Executive Beppe Marotta has said that the club will do all they can to try and sign Liverpool midfielder Emre Can.

Earlier this week the Reds got the boost that Emre Can had said that no pre-contract had been signed with the Turin side or anyone else.

Indeed, he said that he was actually looking for his agent to sort a deal with the Reds and that he wanted to stay and that is certainly something we were pleased about.

Even so, Juve appear undeterred by such talk and Marotta has said that his side is going to do all they can to get the German international in.

He said:

“Emre Can is a player whose contract is running down.

“So it allows us to approach him for negotiations and that is the course we have taken.

“I can’t say if he could sign a new contract with Liverpool, but I can say we will try all we can to get the player.

“Obviously, we have to respect what the player wants.”

They’re not going away, then, but hopefully Can will see what the Reds are doing right now and want to remain a part of that.
