As per the Times, Emre Can has said that he has not entered discussions with Juventus over a pre-contract and that contract talks with Liverpool remain ongoing.
The German international has grown as a player considerably under Jurgen Klopp and was certainly a real presence in midfield at the weekend.
Indeed, in that central and deep role in midfield he’s becoming a real force and we’d obviously like to see him stay.
His contract is running out this summer, though, and so it’ll need to be sorted out soon as to whether he signs a deal.
Talks are ongoing, though, with him revealing that he hasn’t signed with Juve:
“My agent is looking after everything but I’m here until the summer.
“I haven’t signed anything with anyone. I’m talking with everyone.
“Of course I’m talking with Liverpool. Why not? I still have a contract here. It’s an amazing club. What can I say? My agent does the rest.”
Some positive news, then, and now we’re just hoping he puts pen to paper after all of this.
