According to Christian Falk of SportBILD – via Teamtalk – Leon Goretzka has now decided to join Bayern Munich from Schalke.
The midfielder has been linked with Liverpool, Bayern and Manchester United of late and a few weeks ago it looked as though he’d be off to the German champions.
Then, things seemed to switch back as Bayern had their doubts that he’d on the way and said that nothing had been agreed.
But, now, twisting back once more, the player looks off to Munich and the Reds would appear to have lost out on this one.
Even so, if we can get Emre Can on a new contract and Naby Keita settles quickly, we still have good midfield options – though perhaps one more might not go a miss.
A genuine holding player might prove more beneficial than Goretzka anyway, though Can looks like he could do that role.
