The need for positivity after Tottenham!

It’s crucial we as club, the players and most of all the manager moves on the from The Tottenham game.

Now the dust has settled let’s be honest it was both a fair result, and in the context of the Chelsea result, actually a point gained. Moaning about or criticising the penalty decisions won’t change anything and I fear the ongoing focus Klopp has placed on it – a kind of ‘unfairness’ or ‘everything is against Liverpool’, is in danger of derailing our top four ambitions. Players pick up on that energy and could easily get distracted in the upcoming games.

It’s further encouraging to see Tottenham playing Arsenal this weekend which offers a real potential positive for the club. Tottenham win and it almost removes Arsenal from the top four  race subsequently improving our chances (particular if we then win creating a 9 point gap). A draw or even an Arsenal win also creates potential breathing space for us if we win against Southampton.

In summary, it’s time to be both realistic and positive. The weekend game, whilst unfortunate to draw, won’t derail our top four plans.
