Liverpool are looking to bolster their midfield ranks this summer as the club are poised to lose German international Emre Can on a free transfer and it seems the ideal signing may have fallen into their lap.

Spanish outletĀ Diario GolĀ state Real Madrid ace Dani Ceballos has made it clear he wants to leave the Santiago Bernabeu this summer following a lack of opportunities and has his heart set on a move to the Premier League.

Ceballos, 21, signed for the defending European champions last summer from Real Betis but has made just two La Liga starts for Zinedine Zidane’s side, with the majority of his football coming off the bench.

That lack of football has cost the youngster any chance of forcing his way into the Spanish national side for this summer’s World Cup and he’s understandably unhappy, reportedly telling club president Florentino Perez he wants to leave.

Whilst a number of sides in the Premier League could launch an offer for the 21-year-old Spaniard, Liverpool are stated to be leading the chase- although it could come at the cost of Roberto Firmino, who Real Madrid are tracking.

Liverpool would certainly not be willing to part with their Brazilian star and would have the money to fund a swoop for Ceballos regardless.
