Liverpool have put themselves in with a firm chance of reaching the Champions League final in Kiev with a thrilling 5-2 performance in the first-leg of their semi-final and the Reds are keen to add further misery to their Italian counterparts.

Jurgen Klopp’s side have widely been attributed with vast interest in Roma goalkeeper Alisson, stated as the club’s prime target for the summer transfer window, but the Italian side’s chief James Parotta has stated he does not want to sell the Brazil international.

Speaking to Sky ItaliaParotta said:

“I have no interest in selling Alisson, I know that in several, even Liverpool, they said they wanted it. We have a good contract with him. I’m sure some team will come with a lot of money to get it. At that time the decision will be up to the coach and Monchi, but we do not want to see him: it is a pillar of what we want to build, we want guys like him.”

“If we think about selling Pjanic or Salah, we had no choice. There was no such decision: we want to sell Pjanic, it was not like that. If I had spent more time with him, if they told me he wanted to stay, I would have tried to convince him. Then, maybe, we would have sold it anyway. Salah wanted to leave to test himself in the Premier League.”

“We have sold a lot in the past seasons and it’s not what I want to do now. We have some difficulties with financial fair play, we have to take this into account, but once resolved it will change many dynamics. I believe that some guys like Under, with the support of Francesco (Totti), will blossom.”

“It takes time, it’s young: it does extraordinary things, but it still has to improve in the defensive phase. He is one of those we think will stay with us for a long time. Schick had to fight with a lot of injuries and I think he was very frustrating for him. But the way he played against Barcelona has allowed Dzeko to show his talent.”
