Liverpool midfielder Emre Can will decide in the next “few days” whether to sign for Bayern Munich or Juventus, according to the Gazzetta Dello Sport.
The Italian newspaper reports that Juve have offered the player €5million a season (£83,000 a week) to make the move to Turin, but the Bundesliga champions are complicating things.
Bayern have already signed one promising young German player on a free transfer in Leon Goretzka, and they are now said to be keen on getting Can as well.
Eintracht Frankfurt manager Niko Kovac is set to take over from Jupp Heynckes in the summer, and is known for developing young talent. This factor, along with playing for Germany’s biggest club may persuade the Reds midfielder into joining the team.
However, La Gazzetta report that Juventus’s CEO Beppe Marotta and sporting director Fabio Paratici are confident they have laid the groundwork in recent months in order to ward off the overtures from Bayern.
